L.A. Noire
What I liked
The detective work is what makes this game different. Searching crime scenes, collecting evidence and questioning suspects made me feel like I was actually investigating cases instead of just following mission markers.
What I didn't like
Some investigations can become frustrating when the correct response during an interview isn't what I expected. The slower pace also won't work for everyone.
Story
I enjoyed moving through the different detective desks and seeing the cases become more serious. Cole Phelps is also not presented as a perfect character, which makes the story more interesting.
Combat & Gameplay
There is shooting and driving, but for me the investigations are much more important. Looking at evidence and then deciding whether someone is telling the truth is what separates L.A. Noire from other crime games.
Exploration & Open World
The recreation of Los Angeles gives the game a great atmosphere, although the city isn't as interactive as the open worlds in games like GTA.
Final Thoughts
A very different type of crime game. The investigations, interrogations and atmosphere are what made it memorable for me.
