Far Cry 2
What I liked
I liked the freedom and the feeling that the world could become dangerous at any time. Traveling through Africa, planning attacks and dealing with enemies gives the game a different atmosphere from the later Far Cry games.
What I didn't like
Enemy checkpoints can become annoying because enemies return after you've already cleared an area, making traveling more repetitive than it needs to be.
Story
The search for the Jackal gives you the main objective, but the world and gameplay were more interesting to me than the actual story.
Combat & Gameplay
Weapons can jam or break, fires can spread through the environment, and fights don't always go according to plan. Those systems make combat unpredictable.
Exploration & Open World
The African setting is one of the game's biggest strengths. It feels dangerous and less focused on constantly giving you icons and activities.
Final Thoughts
A very good Far Cry game that feels more realistic and unforgiving than the newer games. Some mechanics can become frustrating, but I liked the freedom and atmosphere.
