Sleeping Dogs™

What I liked

The Hong Kong setting and hand-to-hand combat make the game different from most other open-world crime games. Fighting groups of enemies is much more important than simply using guns all the time.

What I didn't like

Some side activities become repetitive, and parts of the open world feel dated compared with newer games.

Story

Playing an undercover police officer inside the Triads creates an interesting situation because Wei Shen is constantly caught between his police work and the people he becomes close to.

Combat & Gameplay

Hand-to-hand combat is one of the best parts. Counters, combos and environmental attacks make fights much more entertaining than basic punching.

Exploration & Open World

Hong Kong gives the game its own identity. Driving through the city, finding activities and exploring different neighborhoods makes it feel different from the typical American open-world setting.

Final Thoughts

A good open-world crime game with an interesting story and very enjoyable hand-to-hand combat. It shows its age in some areas, but it's still fun to play.
