MY REVIEW • 7.3 HOURS PLAYED
F.E.A.R. 3
What I liked
I liked the combination of horror and fast shooting. The combat is enjoyable, and the supernatural parts give it something different from a normal FPS.
What I didn't like
It doesn't feel as scary as the earlier F.E.A.R. games. There is more emphasis on action, which sometimes takes away from the horror.
Story
The story continues the strange relationship between Point Man, Paxton Fettel and Alma. It's still dark and supernatural, although the action gets more attention this time.
Combat & Gameplay
The shooting feels good, and slow motion makes gunfights much more entertaining. Using it to move through a room and take down several enemies is still one of my favorite parts of F.E.A.R.
Comparison
F.E.A.R. 2 had a stronger horror atmosphere for me, while F.E.A.R. 3 puts more focus on action. I still enjoyed both enough to give them the same score.
Final Thoughts
A very good action-horror shooter with enjoyable combat and slow motion. I would have liked it to be scarier, but I still had a good time with it.
