Fallout 3
What I liked
Even in my limited playtime, I liked the Fallout atmosphere, exploration and freedom to decide where to go and what to investigate.
What I didn't like
The game definitely feels older now, especially the shooting, movement, graphics and interface.
Story
Leaving Vault 101 and entering the Capital Wasteland gives you that Fallout feeling of having a large world in front of you without knowing exactly what you're going to find.
Combat & Gameplay
The shooting feels dated compared with Fallout 4, but V.A.T.S. makes combat more interesting and gives it the familiar Fallout RPG style.
Comparison
I prefer Fallout 4 because of the improved combat, graphics and additional systems, but Fallout 3 still has the exploration and atmosphere I enjoy about Fallout.
Final Thoughts
I didn't put enough hours into Fallout 3 to experience most of it, but what I played had the Fallout exploration and freedom that I enjoy. Even with its age, I still give it an 8.
