Metro: Last Light Complete Edition

ShooterStealthSurvival
7/10

What I liked

The atmosphere is excellent. Moving through dark tunnels where you don't know exactly what's waiting ahead gives Metro a feeling that most shooters don't have.

What I didn't like

The game is more linear than I prefer, especially compared with the greater exploration I later enjoyed in Metro Exodus.

Story

The story continues Artyom's journey and the conflict between different groups living in the Metro. The world itself was probably more interesting to me than the political conflict.

Combat & Gameplay

The combination of shooting, stealth and limited resources works well. Going outside and having to manage your gas mask filters also adds tension.

Comparison

I prefer Metro Exodus because of its larger areas and greater freedom to explore, but Last Light still has the dark atmosphere that makes the Metro series interesting.

Final Thoughts

A good atmospheric shooter with strong survival elements, but the more linear structure kept me from enjoying it as much as Metro Exodus.
