Half-Life: Alyx
What I liked
The level of interaction is incredible. In VR, simple things like opening a door, searching a shelf or reloading a weapon feel completely different because you're physically doing the actions yourself.
What I didn't like
VR itself can make longer sessions difficult, and having to wear a headset means it's not a game I can just sit down and play as easily as a normal PC game.
Story
Returning to the Half-Life universe in VR was great. The story keeps the mystery of Half-Life while giving Alyx her own adventure.
Combat & Gameplay
Gunfights become much more intense in VR. Reloading manually while an enemy is coming toward you creates a completely different kind of pressure from pressing a reload button in a normal shooter.
Exploration & Open World
VR makes you want to physically look around rooms and search through objects. Even smaller environments become interesting because you can interact with so many things.
Final Thoughts
One of the best VR experiences I've played. It doesn't feel like a normal game converted to VR—it feels like it was designed around what VR can actually do.
