Dead Island
What I liked
I liked exploring the island, finding better weapons and fighting zombies. The tropical resort is also a great setting because it looks like somewhere you would normally go on vacation, except now it's completely overrun.
What I didn't like
Some quests become repetitive, especially when you're repeatedly traveling somewhere, collecting something and returning.
Story
The story gives you a reason to move through different parts of the island, but for me the zombie survival and exploration were more enjoyable than the main story.
Combat & Gameplay
Melee combat is the strongest part. Finding weapons and modifying them makes fighting zombies more interesting, especially as stronger enemies start appearing.
Exploration & Open World
I enjoyed moving beyond the resort and discovering the different areas of the island. Searching buildings for weapons and supplies also gives you a reason to explore.
Final Thoughts
A very enjoyable zombie game with good melee combat, weapon upgrades and exploration. Some missions are repetitive, but I had a lot of fun with it.
